RIBA AWARD STAIR
This house in Epsom won the 2011 South/South East RIBA award.
Joe Mellows Furniture Makers made this solid maple double-height staircase with adjoining cloakroom pod designed by Eldridge London.
The treads are finger-jointed to the vertical balustrades and held in place with tight fitting stainless steel dowels. No glue was used, just a mallet and some elbow grease!
A surprisingly roomy cloakroom and WC are found within this elegant, minimal Maple-veneered box.
