Joe Mellows Furniture Makers is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Workshop Assistant to help keep our busy workshop clean and tidy.

We're a small team making bespoke furniture and joinery. No two projects coming through the workshop are quite the same. From one-off pieces of furniture to larger fitted interiors, there is always something different going on. It's a friendly, creative environment with great people who enjoy what they do.

 

This is a casual position offering a few hours of work each week. It would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on and wants to help out in a workshop environment.

Duties include:

• Clearing sawdust

• Keeping the workshop clean and tidy

• Putting tools and equipment back in their correct places

• Emptying bins

• General workshop housekeeping

 

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a positive attitude and is willing to learn

• Has good organisational skills

• Is reliable and hardworking

• Takes pride in doing a job properly

• Can follow instructions and work safely

• Has an interest in woodworking or joinery (helpful but not essential)

 

All the PPE and cleaning products you need will be provided.

 

No previous experience is required as you'll be shown everything you need to know.

Location: East Grinstead (RH19 2AX)

Hours: Working hours are flexible and can be arranged to suit you. Typically around 4 to 8 hours per week, depending on workload. Hours can be worked between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
