CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
EXPERIENCED MAKER
Are you a skilled Craftsperson looking for a new, better path?
Would you like to feel fulfilled in your creative work, making a rich variety of beautiful furniture and joinery alongside a talented and dedicated team of fellow Makers?
As a Maker at Joe Mellows Furniture Makers, you'll create something amazing out of simple raw materials, transforming them into beautiful crafted objects that will delight and endure for generations.
You will join our growing company of Craftspeople and Designers and share in our mission to make our creative journey as fulfilling and rewarding as we can.
The company is a thoughtful, friendly and supportive environment for you to grow in and develop yourself. The workshop is on a farm in beautiful West Sussex countryside, over-looking fields and woodland. The work is mostly contemporary, however we balance a passion for the history and tradition of our craft with a drive to innovate.
We attract interesting and enriching bespoke work, from sculptural chairs to grand showpiece staircases - working as solo makers on smaller projects and as a larger team to create masterpieces beyond the reach of one person.
We offer really good rates of pay, plus some great perks like: an annual tool allowance, regular personal development and skills training, one to one meetings, use of our fantastic workshop for your personal projects, a good pension scheme, paid sick leave and flexible ‘life admin’ leave when you need it.
Are you a dynamic and energetic person who is motivated by the mastery of the craft - a Maker with a solid background of training and on-job experience making furniture, cabinets and joinery, who wants something more on their journey?
